Norwegian breakfast

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I recently went on a Norwegian cruise from New York to the Bahamas. I must admit, cruises normally aren't my thing. I like exploring local cultures and finding unique restaurants, shops, etc. However...we had a really great time. It was nice to do with family. Everyone could do their own thing during the day, and meet up for dinner. (I spent almost everyday at the spa). Since you're not spending your time researching the best local spots, there's plenty of time to just relax and catch up.

So...what do vegetarians/vegans eat on a cruise?

Let's start with breakfast. Their buffet is enormous and it comes with all of the standard breakfast fare. Toast, bagels and English muffins with various jams (you can request peanut butter also),  cereals galore (again, soymilk is available upon request), and several potato dishes cooked in oil, not butter.

But the best part is that they offer freshly pressed juices. You do have to pay extra for these, but believe me, it's worth it to start the day without all that extra sugar.

Every morning I had an orange and carrot juice. You could also add celery and/or melon. And then I would have a piece of toast or hash browns as a mid morning snack.
Later in the week, I'll highlight my favorite lunch options!
