Blind Faith Cafe Follow Up

While in Chicago, I met up with a good friend in Evanston at the Blind Faith Cafe. They have some awesome vegan options (they're a vegetarian restaurant) and even offer vegan Chilaquiles, which I adore but rarely come across when eating out.

Crispy tortilla chips, salsa verde, black beans, grilled tofu, guacamole and fresh herbs. So much flavor and so good.

Chicago Diner Follow Up

Last month I spent a few days in Chicago and had to stop by The Chicago Diner

It was my first time having one of their milkshakes and I have no idea why I waited so long. I love strawberry milkshakes. This one did not disappoint.

And they had a special - Poutine. Waffles fries topped with gravy, cheese, bacon, jalapenos and green onions. Oh my, this was so delicious. I can't even imagine how many calories it contains, but it's worth it, regardless.

Caffeine Dreams Follow Up

Another one of my Omaha favorites is Caffeine Dreams. They offer some great vegan eats and sweets.

On my last visit, I had the Mixed Berry Muffin and a Double Chocolate Chip Cookie. The cookie I ate in the car on a way to a meeting, so unfortunately, no picture.

But the muffin was an awesome breakfast the next day!

Ted + Wally's Follow Up

I've posted about Ted + Wally's (an ice creamery in downtown Omaha) vegan ice cream options before...they feature new vegan flavors all the time.

A few weeks ago when I was in town, the featured flavor was Blueberry. I am crazy about blueberries, and this was pretty stellar.

I highly recommend liking them on facebook to find out about their current flavor offerings.

Pitch....follow up

I've been traveling to Omaha quite a bit lately and Pitch is always one of my favorite spots to eat. They used to offer a vegan pizza on the menu (sans cheese), but on my last visit I didn't see it. The Marinara pizza is topped with tomato sauce, herbs and tons of garlic. This pizza is only for lovers of garlic, which I happen to be. The good thing is, even if it's gone from the menu, you can make your own pizza exactly how you want it.

Their Veggie pizza is topped with loads of grilled veggies - just order it with tomato sauce (instead of cream sauce) and without cheese.

Either way, the crust is amazing and the tomato sauce is made with San Marzano tomatoes, which are the best tomatoes, don't you think?
