Two Tablespoons

Madison Square Eats is a month long event in the Flatiron District, and thankfully, close to our office.

Throughout the month of May, I frequented Two Tablespoons, a vegetarian and gluten free eatery. You can find them throughout the summer at Broadway Bites

I'm a huge fan of Kombucha, and they have one on draft from Beyond Kombucha that I adore. It's called the Anti-Bomb.

The Edamame and Cucumber Noodle Salad is so perfect for a summer lunch.

And their Quinoa + Almond spring rolls are really lovely. They're filled with cucumbers, tofu, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, quinoa and an almond sauce.

Bryant Park Grill

Last week, on a particularly nice day, Heath and I walked to Bryant Park for a rooftop snack.

Bryant Park is super chill and a nice break from the city. There was a yoga class going on at the time. It felt a bit lazy watching others burn off calories while I consumed them, but it was still lovely.

The Bryant Park Grill has several dishes labeled vegan, but it looked like there were a good deal more that could be veganized.

We shared the Vegan Israeli Platter -  hummus, pinto beans, olives, chopped tomato & onion salad, tabbouleh, grilled hot chilies, fire roasted eggplant, cabbage slaw, organic carrot and date salad, sliced raw onions and grilled pita bread. I loved the mixture of hummus and smashed pinto beans, with all of the various toppings.

(Everything is in plastic because we ate on the rooftop. Their indoor presentation is a bit more elevated).

Pitch follow up

Pitch is always one of my favorite stops in Omaha. They have a veggie pizza that I really love. Everything is baked in their coal fired oven, and it adds such a nice complexity.

The veggie pizza needs to be ordered with tomato sauce instead of the cream sauce, and without cheese. It's so flavorful, you won't miss the cheese.

Bliss Bakery

During my last trip to Omaha, I also got to try Bliss Bakery for the first time. They sell their awesome baked goods at the Tea Smith in the Old Market and I was thrilled to find a vegan brownie when I stopped in for my morning tea.

The brownie is a Chai Chocolate Brownie, and it was really interesting and unique. I love chai. I love chocolate. Also a really great texture for a vegan brownie.

Blue Sushi's expanded vegan menu

In Omaha, Blue Sushi is one of my favorite spots. They have really inventive veggie rolls, which I really appreciate. And now, all of their veggie rolls with the exception of one, are vegan. Vegan mayo, vegan tempura. It's amazing...and it's all because people requested it. (In particular, Vegan Omaha). Ask and you shall receive. Never hesitate to ask.

The Cowgirl is my favorite roll - pickle tempura, crispy onion rings, mayo and bbq paper. It's so unique for sushi and I love the pickles.

This picture was taken in my hotel room, while I was working late on a Tuesday night. It was the perfect snack to eat in bed.
